the back-cover of this package reproduces the right panel of glenn ligon’s diptych condition report, which features the hand- written annotations (here too small to read) of michael duffy, a painting conservator. duffy’s comments on the “condition” of ligon’s original 1988 painting untitled (i am a man) have been re-presented in four columns across two panels of this package, as a found poem, by spottswood erving.
